Charging Policy

Here are the details regarding our charging policy.
The Governing body levies charges in conformity with the 1988 Education Act & DFEE circular 2/89 . These documents are available in school. For certain activities such as educational visits and cooking, a financial contribution is requested from each parent to cover all or part of the costs involved. This contribution is voluntary and no child will be penalised because of a parent's inability to contribute. However, such activities can only be funded from voluntary contributions and therefore can only take place if sufficient contributions are made. Financial help is available for parents in receipt of Income Support and Family Credit.
Payments will be sought from parents for damage to or loss of school property caused willfully or negligently by their children.
For activities taking place before or after the school day which are deemed outside the requirements of the National Curriculum, (eg instrumental music tuition) the Governing Body may make a charge to cover costs.
The Chairman of the Governing body together with the headteacher will determine any individual case arising from the implementation of this policy.
